Each session consisted of physical training, competitions and education activities. One day they learned about bike safety from a bike officer, another day they practiced water safety in the pool.
During the sessions the campers learned to reply to their instructors in a military way, shouting "Yes, sir" and "No, sir".
During an exercise with the department's K-9 officer and his dog Reno, the campers observed as Reno tracked an elderly man who has wandered away from his nursing home.
The Top Camper Award was given to Drew Rockwell. He was chosen for the award by the campers themselves, campers voted for a peer who displayed a high level of respect to others, the ability to overcome adversity and had leadership skills. Drew was presented with 2 passes to Holiday World.
Operation Wellness contributed healthy snacks, and made presentations on healthy eating.
The campers were both male and female, and represented all three local school districts, Jay County and area homeschoolers. At the awards ceremony campers were presented with certificates, pool passes and a Dairy Queen Coupon.
