Park and Recreation Summer Programs

Students must have completed Kindergarten to participate in the activities unless otherwise noted. Grades are determined by what year the students just completed. No programs on the 4th of July.  Swimming Lessons and toddler gymnastics must pre-register.

Learn To Swim at the Wells Community Pool

Swim Lessons Grades K-12 Registration
Early swim lessons set a positive foundation towards a lifetime of participation and enjoyment in and under the water. Swim registration is for children who just finished grades K-12 and will take place at the City Hall from 10:30am -12:30pm Saturday May 15th. Class lessons are held Monday through Friday June 7-11, 14-18th OR July 12-16, 19-23rd for a total of 10 lessons. Class times are either 10-10:50am or 11-11:50am. Cost for non Wells County Residents is $11 and discounted to $5.50 for residents (due at registration).

Toddler Swim Lessons ages 4-pre K Registration
Early swimming fosters a growing sense of self-esteem, confidence and independence. As a child’s ability to freely move through the water increases so does their sense of well-being. Registration will be held at City Hall from 10:30 am – 12:30pm on Saturday May 15th at the cost of $5.50. Lessons will be M-W-F the week of June 21st OR M-W-F the week of June 28th. Swim time is from 11-11:45am and a parent must get in the water with each child.

American Red Cross Progressive Swim Courses
Level 1 through Level 7. Swimmers will advance according to ability. Upon completion of one level, students will be moved to the next level.
Level 1: Water Exploration
Level 2: Primary Skills
Level 3: Stroke Readiness
Level 4: Stroke Development
Level 5: Stroke Refinement
Level 6: Proficiency
Level 7: Advanced Skills

Diving:  Must pass swim test

Gymnastic Lessons
Offered Monday thru Friday at the Bluffton Elementary School gym, enter through door #8 only.   $10 fee per week for toddlers.  All other lessons are $20 for city residents ages 5 and up and $25 for those out of the city limits, due at registration.  Kid's camp and toddler camp must be pre-registered by calling 824-6069.  Participants for remaining camps may register the first day you attend.

Free Tennis Lessons
Classes are held at Washington Park, Monday thru Friday (weather permitting).  Register the first day you attend.

Summer Kids's Camp 1/2 days for K - 3rd

This 2 week camp will be available June 7-18 or July 12-23, from 8am to noon.  Children will enjoy lessons in gymnastics, tennis, free play and snack and swim lessons.  Cost is $30 per student and you must call 824-6069 to register.  Drop your child off at door #8 at the Bluffton Elementary School by 8am and pick them at the Wells Community Pool at 11:50am.

Pee Wee Soccer/Baseball registration

Pee wee soccer is for boys and girls in grades K-3 and teams are divided into 2 age groups. Games are played on Saturday afternoons in the Bluffton City Gym. Registration is Saturday March 6th, at Bluffton City Hall from 9-11 am. Cost is $20 and includes a T-shirt. A representative from T-ball, baseball, softball and the Wells County Swim team will be on hand Saturday March 6th from 9-11am at the City Hall to accept registration for their leagues.
